Tech Transfer Leader DSP

Biogen is building a new Biologics Manufacturing Facility in Solothurn. It will initially house eight 18’000 liters bioreactors.
The team is looking for an experienced Downstream Scientist or Engineer. In this role you will implement mechanisms and tools enabling successful Technology Transfer activities under a highly automated state-of-the-art biologics manufacturing facility and drive Process Transfer activities for large-scale manufacturing bioprocesses. Post-Tech Transfer, you will provide technical process and product expertise during manufacturing campaigns as downstream process SME, including leading complex process investigations and implementing process improvements.
The position reports to the senior manager of the Tech Transfer group and will lead a matrixed Tech Transfer team consisting of Operations, Engineering, Process, Automation, Development, QC and QA.
Lead Technology Transfer and Upstream Process Transfer by driving matrixed, cross-functional team to ensure successful production campaigns (clinical, validation and commercial campaign)
Develop projects plans, coordinate project execution, build and improve Tech Transfer project management tools
Provide Subject Matter Expert process support to operations during campaigns. Lead process related investigations. Provide SME impact assessment to other investigations (operational or equipment deviations)
Lead technical projects towards improved facility capabilities, efficient systems, improved technical competency, or increased process/scale-up understanding
Communicate effectively and proactively to department and site leadership and within external forums
Master or PhD degree in Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology
Relevant and proven experience in Project Management and Technology Transfer is a must
Experience on manufacturing execution system in automated facility is desirable
Solid understanding of downstream bioprocessing (chromatography, viral filtration, UF/DF, SPTFF and dispensing), preferably at large-scale
Excellent collaborative skills for partnering within matrixed environment
Ability to define and lead tech transfer deliverables, increase process robustness, drive complex process investigations and implement process improvements
MS with minimum 8 years of experience in downstream process, or PhD with minimum 4 years of experience in downstream process
