Manager, US Forecasting (Neuromuscular)

Job Description

The US Neuromuscular Forecasting Manager will be an integral part of the forecasting and business planning process and will assist in developing and maintaining the SMA and ALS forecast models for the US business, leveraging both primary and secondary data assets. The individual will work cross-functionally to gather inputs for the forecasts, socialize outputs, and run sensitivities and ad hoc analyses. The individual will help the business build objective and fact-based forecasts and scenarios that enable the business to make data-driven decisions that maximize shareholder value.

The role offers a mix of analytical, strategic, and operational work and the opportunity to collaborate with a wide array of stakeholders at various levels to help drive business success. The individual will report to the Director, US Forecasting.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Partner closely with the US business planning teams to understand and model forecast dynamics on US product revenues
  • Partner with the US SMA and ALS brand teams and help ensure brand input into and alignment with the forecast
  • Partner with the Customer and Market Insights team to understand business performance and market and competitive events, and help contextualize performance within the forecast framework
  • Collaborate with Brand, Customer and Market Insights, Finance, Market Access, and Global Strategic Forecasting on long range planning exercises for the US
  • Work with stakeholders on ad hoc analyses to model impact of market events, business decisions, and other factors on the forecast
  • In partnership with the investor relations team, reconcile external (e.g. Wall Street) forecast models and assumptions with internal views
  • Partner with the Field Operations team to translate forecasts into subnational targets for incentive compensation
  • Communicate forecasts and scenarios and risks to the Supply and Operations Planning team

 

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess the following key skills and competencies:

  • Very strong analytical and quantitative skill set, including Excel modeling skills
  • High sense of urgency with the ability to work under tight timelines
  • Ability to proactively deliver moderately complex analytical investigations and cross-functional projects with limited guidance
  • Comfort with ambiguity and ability to absorb and logically structure information into analytical deliverable outputs
  • Familiarity with incorporating qualitative and quantitative inputs into projects
  • Demonstrated Strong Communication Skills – both efficient and succinct in verbal and written communications/deliverables
  • Attention to detail, yet proven ability to maintain an “80/20” mindset
  • Independent, out-of-the-box thinker with conviction of thought
  • Personal drive and passion to know/understand the business
  • 2-5 years of relevant experience in the pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry and/or strategic consulting discipline

 Education :

• BA/BS required
• MBA preferred
