Job Description

The IT Partner/Sr. IT Partner for Commercial Field Force Effectiveness will support the development of Biogen’s commercial capabilities to prepare for the Alzheimer’s disease product, potentially the first biologic therapy in Alzheimer’s Disease.

This role will have global responsibility. The role will engage directly with the different functions in Customer Excellence & Operations to enable the commercial technology capabilities required to support field users, and commercial operations.

This role will report directly to the Commercial IT Lead and will have global responsibility, with an initial focus on the US region.

Key Responsibilities include:

  • Work collaboratively with business and IT stakeholders to deliver and support technology-oriented solutions that align with the strategic business direction.
  • Refine and manage the portfolio of IT initiatives necessary to support the successful launch of the Alzheimer’s disease franchise.
  • Partner with business and IT stakeholders to socialize project plans and implementation approaches.
  • Serve as lead for commercial launch activities, ensuring deliveries are on time and within scope.
  • Ensure flawless execution of the functional project portfolio in collaboration with business analysts and project managers on the team.
  • Identify and partner with external service providers to deliver solutions and services.
  • Manage commercial technology delivery, including communication, platform/technology selection, pilots, implementations, and operations.
  • Establishing yourself as a trusted business partner who can represent the business needs of the commercial organization.

The successful candidate will demonstrate the following qualifications:

  • Excellent people skills, outgoing personality.
  • Ability to explain complex technology in simple ways.
  • A minimum of 6 years (10+ years for Sr. IT Partner) relevant implementation and support of biotech or pharmaceutical commercial technology capabilities.
  • An understanding of global biotech or pharmaceutical commercial ecosystem, tools, and technology.
  • Experience implementing Veeva suite of products.
  • Expert understanding of commercial technology and data architecture including Third Party data providers, commercial data warehousing, master data management, customer relationship management, and data visualization tools.
  • Proficiency in articulating how technology can be used to gain competitive advantage. High proficiency in creating business cases in the vernacular of your business partners.
  • Willingness to build constructive tension with business partners to push norms and achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Proven ability to work under pressure, prioritize work and balance priorities with the ability to achieve positive results.
  • Understanding of field activities such as:
    • Territory alignment and quarterly planning
    • Call planning and execution process (call continuum)
    • Customer data management
    • Medical inquiry handling
    • Strategic account planning
    • Use of digital assets and non-personal activity transactions
    • Field cross-functional collaboration
    • Quarterly business reviews, expense management as it relates to ASR/Sunshine Act
    • Thought leader management
    • Event management
  • Familiarity with data sets around formulary, TRx, market share via industry-standard suppliers, channel/specialty pharmacy, non-personal activities such as email and direct mail as it relates to the fields ability to ensure customer continuum, contract data.
  • IT project management skills with the ability to keep multiple projects moving forward.

Education

  • Undergrad in Computer Science, Informational technology management, Business Management or scientific backgrounds. An MBA or related post-graduate degree is preferred.
