Commercial Associate Director Alzheimer’s

The Commercial Associate Director Alzheimer’s is responsible for leading the affiliate commercial organization with full strategic, tactical and operational responsibility for sales and marketing. She/he provides strategic leadership in market development/market expansion opportunities and the brand planning and sales strategy process. The Commercial Associate Director ensures that the Norwegian commercial strategies align with global strategies and meet financial, compliance and organizational requirements. She/he establishes Norway as a launch excellence affiliate and as an early launch market for new innovations and products if possible. He/she demonstrates inspiring leadership and develops future commercial leaders and works collaboratively and cross-functionally across the affiliate and is accountable for the Norwegian affiliate commercial performance within Alzheimer’s.
Leads the Commercial Organization
Build and oversee the future team of Key Account Managers, Product Managers, Commercial Operations Associate and Administrative Assistant to meet brand objectives according to national law/legislations and Biogen’s code of conduct and company policies.
Defines commercial roles and responsibilities and sets key stretch performance goals. Assigns work effectively, with appropriate dialogue re: context, specific accountabilities, goals, milestones and resources.
Develop talent within the commercial team to ensure effective succession planning. Gives feedback to all team members on a regular basis, coaches and measures achievement of the set goals. Supports creating individual development plans.
Responsible for developing a strategic launch and growth plan.
Recommend, monitor and meet revenue and unit sales budgets for brands and therapeutic areas.
Creates and implements the process for effective communication across sales & marketing and all customer facing staff.
Ensure that all customer facing staff are have the right skills and are continuously trained to address all challenges in the field.
Coordinates future marketing activities Alzheimer’s
Leads the annual commercial brand planning and operational planning process, based on input from internal and external stakeholders.
Identifies product opportunities, while managing the ROI of individual programs and supplier investments.
Establishes and refines (as needed) a communication strategy & messaging across all target groups.
Oversees development of product strategies/launches, promotional materials, participation in congresses, that are in line with the global marketing strategy.
Oversees program planning of all marketing and sales events.
Oversee and manage all sales and marketing budgets.
Collaborates on Market Access and Corporate Affairs activities.
Works closely with Head of Market Access and Head of Corporate Affairs to determine and secure optimal pricing approvals and public/private payor reimbursement for Biogen products. Contributes to pricing & reimbursement strategy.
Collaborates with Head of Market Access and Head of Corporate Affairs to ensure aligned communication strategy & messaging to all Market Access/PR relevant target groups and stakeholders.
Collaborates with Head of Market Access Head of Corporate Affairs to align our Social Media strategy.
Contributes to the Norwegian Leadership team
The Commercial Associate Director Alzheimer’s is a member of the Norwegian Leadership team and participates in and contributes to all relevant team meetings.
Drives innovation and leadership at all levels of the organization.
Works collaboratively and in total alignment with the Medical, Market Access, Corporate Affairs, Regulatory, S&G, Compliance, Finance and HR heads in clearly defining the overall company strategy and successfully executing on the company operational plan.
Build and develop a customer-facing team and key external customer relationships with KMEs.
Maintain a high level of brand and therapeutic expertise.
Contributes to senior leadership’s knowledge of product/market status through the regular submission of marketing intelligence, marketing and sales reports.
Ensure meaningful market research is conducted and results are utilized to improve and refine strategies and implementation.
- 3-5 years business unit management
- 5-10 years of sales and marketing
- Bachelor of Science or MS, or MBA is preferred
- Academic Disciplines: Economy, Social sciences, Biology, Biological sciences, Marketing,
- Pharma brand management experience, preferably in the Neurology/CNS area
- Market Access/pricing experience preferred
- Fluent in English
