Inventory & Planning Manager Soft Goods

As Best Made continues to rapidly grow, we are seeking to hire an Inventory and Planning Manager for its growing soft goods business. The position will be a hands-on partner working as a hub between the merchant, operations and marketing teams to ensure data accuracy to drive business and buying strategy. You will be working closely with and reporting directly to our Director of Inventory and Planning.

Essential Functions:

• Work closely with production and operations to develop pre-season inventory level purchase plans by SKU for soft goods merchandising categories

• Develop and maintain soft goods ‘open to buy’ projections and reconciliations

• Issue standard daily, weekly, and monthly recap and projection reports

• Finalize and communicate forecasts to vendors based in line with production calendar

• Monitor sales to reorder, expedite, or cancel as necessary

• Create and maintain databases to report and analyze data

• Liaise with fulfillment center on receiving and quality control

• Coordinate with fulfillment center on QC inspections, communicating to resolution with production as any issues arise

• Develop initial product allocation with retail locations to ensure proper inventory across sales locations

• Ensure SKU level inventory data is updated correctly across systems

Experience You Have:

• Thorough understanding of merchant and retail math

• 2+ years’ experience as a merchandising planner or analytics role

• Exceptional Excel and database analytical skills

• Ability to read and interpret large data sets

• Strong cross functional communication skills to bind business groups together through accurate information

• Experience managing inventory for retail store allocations

• Drive to uncover data patterns to drive business logic and decision making

• Experience working with distribution and fulfillment centers on vendor quality control

• Ability to understand and manage simultaneous priorities and request for ad hoc reports

• Experience working with direct to consumer retail apparel
