This position will lead innovation activities for the Makeup category and develop Seasonal Promotional Activities (Holidays). This includes managing the product launch pipeline from concept and briefing to positioning, pricing, and marketing as well as ongoing category management and strategic analysis of launch performance. This position requires excellent organizational and follow-up skills, outstanding communication skills, and someone who can multi-task, takes initiative and embraces the Beautycounter mission and values.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and lead innovation pipeline, with input from Vice President, for assigned product launches within Makeup category:
    • Develop launch plan and 3 year innovation roadmap for Makeup and new categories.
    • Write new product development briefs, leveraging Mintel and NPD insights, competitive analysis and benchmarking to bring innovative new products to market.
    • Drive cross functional relationships and process to bring new products to market: formula review and approval, COGS management, pricing strategy, concept and big idea for launch, post-mortem analysis.
    • Track business performance to evaluate new launch success, as well as quarterly sales reporting and health of business reports.
    • Develop marketing and promotional plans to support key categories in absence of new product launches.

  • Support Vice President in strategic entry into new categories
    • Analyze ongoing performance and key learnings to inform go-forward strategy.
    • Keep pulse on latest beauty industry trends and emerging innovation opportunities. 
  • Develop and lead Seasonal Promotional Activities, with input from Vice President, for all categories (skincare, makeup, new categories):
    • Write concept for Seasonal Promotional Activities and animation campaigns for core portfolio and limited edition launches.
    • Definition of product mix, COGS management, pricing strategy.
    • Drive cross functional relationships to bring Seasonal Promotional Activities to life.
    • Track business performance to evaluate new launch success, as well as quarterly sales reporting and health of business reports.

Marketing Calendar:

  • Collaborate with all internal teams and share calendar regularly, communicating updates as needed;
  • Partner with commercial team to plan omnichannel execution and Consultant support materials for US & Canada, including balance of support for Core programs vs. new product initiatives for Makeup and new categories;
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams to ensure all executions meet strategic product objectives and are aligned with product positioning;
    • Ensure omnichannel merchandising aligns with calendar and brand objectives – this includes requesting copy and imagery for support of new and core products;

Go To Market

  • Manage integrated go to market strategy for makeup and new category launches, partnering with broader cross-functional team;
  • Ideate and execute marketing promotion ideas to support business objectives for assigned categories including brand promotions, new product launches, and core product campaigns
  • Ensure flawless communication with internal teams in dynamic environment

Qualifications: 

 The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required:

  • 10+ years of experience in Innovation/Product Marketing, preferably in Makeup category
  • Must be connected and passionate about beauty trends and innovation
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Strong communication skills, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Must thrive in fast-paced environment and excel at juggling multiple priorities and projects
  • Fantastic attention to detail and strong critical thinking skills
  • Ability to manage across multiple teams, projects, and priorities efficiently and effectively
  • Eye for creativity and skillful in evaluating creative concepts
  • Passion for the mission of getting safer products into the hands of everyone
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications

Pay: $170k – $215k for work locations in the United States, with individual pay determined by several factors including, but not limited to, job-related skills, experience, education, and training. Salary ranges are determined in good faith by role, level, and location.  As a remote-eligible job, a narrower salary range for a candidate’s preferred location may be available.

 

Bonus: Additional compensation includes an annual discretionary bonus based on company and individual performance.
