Job Description Summary
Reporting to the Associate Director Global Transportation, you will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing the end-to-end cold chain logistics operations across the global network. The primary focus will be on ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant transportation and storage of temperature-sensitive products, such as pharmaceuticals, vaccines, perishable food items, and other temperature-sensitive goods on a global scale. You will ensure process harmonization across the global network, manage and select packaging suppliers according to BD requirements, and ensure compliance in shipments according to business unit dictated temperature requirements.

Main responsibilities will include:
- Develop and implement global cold chain management strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity and quality of temperature-sensitive products throughout the supply chain.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including procurement, manufacturing, quality assurance, regulatory affairs, and distribution, to ensure effective coordination and communication.
- Evaluate and select cold chain logistics partners, including carriers, freight forwarders, packaging suppliers, and cold storage facilities, to ensure compliance with global regulations and industry best practices.
- Supervise and manage the performance of cold chain logistics partners, including conducting regular audits, inspections, and performance reviews.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with regulatory authorities, industry associations, and other stakeholders to stay updated on global cold chain regulations, standards, and emerging trends.
- Implement robust temperature monitoring systems and quality control processes to proactively identify and mitigate risks to product integrity.
- Lead investigations and root cause analysis for cold chain deviations, implementing corrective and preventive actions to prevent reoccurrence.
- Develop and deliver cold chain training programs to internal and external stakeholders to ensure awareness and adherence to cold chain management standards.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in cold chain technologies, packaging solutions, and transportation modes, and recommend innovative solutions to enhance operational efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to the global cold chain management team, encouraging a culture of continuous improvement, collaboration, and excellence.
About you
- Proven experience in cold chain management, including successfully leading end-to-end cold chain logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, packaging, and quality assurance, preferably in a global or multinational organization.
- In-depth knowledge of global cold chain regulations, including Good Distribution Practices (GDP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and other relevant industry standards.
- Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, business administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Certified in Cold Chain Management or related certifications (e.g., Certified Supply Chain Professional, Certified Logistics Professional)
- Strong communication skills and the ability to influence without authority across multiple functions in a highly matrixed global organization
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data-driven decisions and optimize cold chain processes
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a distributed team and drive performance excellence
- Proficiency in using cold chain management software and temperature monitoring systems
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required
