Venture General Manager for Medical Asethetics Startup Venture in Irvine

We are getting ready to launch and scale a new venture within a leading skin care and aesthetics company that will transform the medical aesthetics market and beauty space. With funding in place, this venture is well positioned to disrupt the multi-billion dollar US medical aesthetics market, infusing cutting edge technology and killer content into an industry primed for innovation. 
 
We are looking for a General Manager to lead this team in building and scaling a personalization capability that will transform the way the organization interacts with customers. The GM will be an exceptional leader who will work with senior management and own the end to end success of transforming the company into a personalization leader. This is a critical leadership position that will help drive the personalization strategy for the company.

What will the GM do?

  • Lead Strategy
  • Identify customer need states and opportunities that can deliver meaningful growth to the organization; develop customer-specific strategies to meet those needs leveraging personalization capabilities
  • Set the overall vision of the personalization team, identifying both short and long term goals and establishing a roadmap on how to scale the capability across the organization
  • Make investments in data, technology and new ways of working to drive incremental revenue growth from known customer base
  • Partner closely with key teams across the enterprise to identify opportunities to align customer growth strategies with overarching enterprise goals
  • Work with executive leadership to align on opportunities for growth and further investment
  • Ensure the personalization programs being built deliver on the customer strategies that have been aligned on
  • Manage competition and threats in the marketplace, with constant evaluation of strategic priorities

Desired Expertise and Experience


  • 5+ years’ experience in consumer / retail marketing, showing a progression of increased responsibility and leadership experience, with the ability to build high-performing teams and have impact / influence at all levels
  • Demonstrated experience running a business / organizational business unit with the ability to vision future state, generate and test hypotheses, synthesize insights into concrete, actionable strategies and tactical plans that deliver on business objectives
  • Demonstrated innovation capabilities, with a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work in more fluid and ambiguous environments
  • Demonstrated ability to turn insights into meaningful actions; ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple, concurrent business initiatives that have significant financial impact
  • Outstanding strategic thinking, business planning, problem solving, and analytical skills
  • Exceptional command over creating and delivering structured and unstructured communications to executive teams
  • Ability to build productive cross functional relationships at all levels of the organization, as well as with external partners
  • Experience with customer strategy, loyalty, and/or personalization
  • Previous experience in pharma, healthcare, or health and wellness industries preferred, with knowledge of regulatory guidelines
  • Bachelor’s degree required, MBA strongly preferred
