Head of Commercial / Business Development - Stealth Healthcare Startup

We are launching a stealth startup, which will build a digital clinical operations platform to disrupt the drug development industry. With funding already in place, this startup will capture part of this 50 billion dollar US market through digital redesign of the clinical trial value chain.

We are looking for an exceptional Head of Commercial/Business Development to join as part of the founding team to launch and scale this disruptive startup.

As the Head of Business Development, you will:

  • Oversee development and execution of the company's launch and mid-term commercial strategy
  • Assess, build and manage a pipeline of pharmaco/sponsor targets across relevant channels to deliver on the company's growth objectives
  • Conduct business development activities with product/service partners such as CROs and other digital clinical players
  • Actively maintain a detailed perspective of the digital clinical operations market and the competitive landscape
  • Serve as key account manager to own delivery for early commercial activities
  • Define the venture's commercial organizational structure for direct-to-pharmaco sales and manage growing sales and commercial team
  • Work with engineering, product, and medical teams to align commercial targets with all development plans/activities
  • Oversee the development of the KPI's and assessment systems to continually monitor the success of the product in the market; update implementation and operational plans accordingly based on data-driven decisions and analyses
  • Help to establish a company culture that is achievement-driven, positive and empowering for all employees

Desired Expertise & Experience

  • 5+ years prior professional experience as a pharmaco executive in Marketing/Sales/Strategy/Operations/Business Development
  • Drug development background with deep understanding of the clinical trial process
  • Extremely results driven; hands-on approach to business development
  • Highly analytical mindset; strong attention to detail without losing the big picture
  • Experience building a sales team previously in a high-growth environment
  • Negotiation experience in commercial deals >$1M
  • Good presentation skills to large audiences (conferences)
  • Frequent travel to key customers
  • Expertise in specific TAs is a plus, including oncology
