Director - Personalization Strategy & Innovation for Stealth Venture in Irvine

We are getting ready to launch and scale a new, stealth venture within a leading skin care and aesthetics company  that will transform the medical aesthetics market and beauty space. With funding in place, this venture is well positioned to disrupt the multi-billion dollar US medical aesthetics market, infusing cutting edge technology and killer content into an industry primed for innovation.
 
We are looking for a Director – Personalization Strategy & Innovation. This role will be responsible for leading a team in identifying, developing and executing loyalty and personalization growth opportunities through the use of relevant and personalized marketing strategies.
 
The ideal candidate will have a strong command of digital marketing campaigns, the ability to problem-solve and set / execute a strategy, and an interest in the beauty and/or medical aesthetics industry.

What You Will Do:

  • Develop a unique and rich understanding of the customer’s needs and motivations; elevate and champion the voice of the customer across the enterprise through the use of customer-centric strategy and development
  • Provide cross-functional, executive leadership with strategic business and category insights with a customer lens
  • Set and oversee execution of personalization strategy (i.e., identification & sizing of hypothesis-driven, 1:1 personalized growth strategies across customer cohorts including new communication approaches, offer strategies, methods of offer delivery, new external partnerships, etc.)
  • Set growth goals and plans, identifying and prioritizing growth opportunities, mitigating risks, and driving business results
  • Integrate findings from growth opportunities into the organization for on-going execution and refinement
  • Oversee implementation of a “test and learn” approach, with a focus on driving quick, actionable, and game changing learnings
  • Direct a team of 2-4 associates across business, creative, and/or design

Who You Are:

  • 10+  years of marketing experience, including previous experience with customer growth and development, data-driven marketing, and/or strategy development
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, management, marketing, or finance; MBA is strongly preferred
  • Strong leadership skills, with proven ability to prioritize and deliver on multiple concurrent initiatives that have significant financial impact. Flexible and can tolerate ambiguity and still operate effectively
  • Excellent verbal and written communicator, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization
  • Outstanding strategic thinking and analytical skills. Demonstrated ability to develop vision for the future state, test hypotheses, and synthesize facts and insights into concrete, actionable strategies and tactical plans 
  • Knowledge of analytical approaches / customer analytics; experience utilizing personalized marketing vehicles to influence customer behavior and solid understanding of financial and operational functioning of targeted marketing vehicles
  • Ability to deliver work and provide positive leadership in a fast-paced environment
  • A passion for understanding and meeting the needs of the customer
