Role Summary

We are currently seeking an Extrusion Technician to join our Process Engineering team. The Extrusion Technician is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the extrusion equipment to produce medical grade extrusions. Additionally, this person will support the process engineering team in the development of new extrusions and processing parameters.

Snapshot of Responsibilities

  • Work with the Extrusion Engineer to deliver on a production schedule which effectively achieves output targets and delivery dates
  • Ensure that products manufactured meet the company's specifications, performance and quality criteria of end users, customers, and regulatory authorities
  • Product awareness to ensure products conform to customer requirements and end user's safety
  • Adhere to machine safety and personal protective equipment requirements at all times
  • Attain technical expertise in extrusion technologies and materials
  • Support the Extrusion Engineer/Project Leader on new technology, tooling, and materials required to meet demands
  • Conduct preventative maintenance of extrusion equipment
What you bring to the team
  • Be able to use inspection equipment and accurately record results
  • Understand technical product specifications
  • Be able to quickly adapt and make changes during the production process
  • Be capable of working in a regulated, clean manufacturing environment to protect products from contamination
  • Understand GDP and GMP for medical manufacturing regulatory requirements
  • 2 years medical device, regulated environment or high quality manufacturing experience
  • College level diploma in engineering, science, or semi-skilled trade
  • Have strong communication skills and ability to work on own initiative
  • Hands on experience in extrusion and plastics material knowledge is desirable
