SALES TRAINING MANAGER

We are a fast growing startup looking for a Senior Sales Trainer and Content/Curriculum Developer to further develop sales training content and tools that fuel the expansion of our growing sales team. Currently we have a lot of instructor in-class training. Moving forward we expect most training to be done from home. You need the experience to build that training model from what it is today.

We are looking for someone to own and be responsible for cultivating skill development (selling, coaching and facilitation skills) using live instructor-led trainings, web-ex delivery. You will lead the process by which curriculum is continually developed, delivered, evaluated, and revised. This is a key role focused on the continuous improvement of our sales productivity and performance.

You will spend your time in these main areas: 1) create and maintain materials, projects and supporting materials such as examples and exercises for training 2) onboard with live-in person trainings for new hires 3) manage remote ongoing trainings with veteran reps 4) manage multiple projects involving improving performance and the customer experience 5) oversee quality assurance to make sure training is being executed at a high level.

  • **Must be located in the Bay Area and be able to commute to Peninsula headquarters daily***

KEY QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

  • Bachelor’s degree (instructional design, curriculum development, or other related field)
  • Experience with online curriculum development
  • Able to develop curriculum with online authoring tools
  • Experience building a remote training model
  • Litmos experience is a plus, however we are looking to adopt more advanced tools
  • Assist in the development of presentations and support materials
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate with variety of staff both face to face and remotely
  • Ability to facilitate collaborative, cross-functional decision-making processes
  • Experience facilitating in-class training
  • Commanding presence in front of a room and over web conference; credible in front of a field sales team and executive audience
  • Experience as a sales rep or sales manager really gives credibility to the role and is preferred but not required
  • Excellent consulting skills; ability to understand business strategy and key drivers to create effective sales training
  • Knowledge of different consultative sales processes
  • Experience to include leading groups of people, setting expectations, and creating learning goals and objectives
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at once
  • Project and content management for continuous learning programs
  • Train new hires on company products and sales strategy and initiatives; conduct New Hire On-Boarding Program for sales team
  • Coach and mentor new employees during Mentoring and Onboarding phase of training
  • Facilitate ongoing instructor led Sales Training from start to finish
  • Implementation and tracking of sales on-boarding competency
  • Moderate and facilitate both live face-to-face and virtual learning sessions for our fast-growing sales force
  • Willing to occasionally travel nationally
  • Willingness to take on various sales training and sales support responsibilities as assigned
  • Training-related data analysis
  • Lead training projects and initiatives.
  • Consult with sales managers to ensure training message is consistent and meeting expectations
  • The sales trainer should conduct ongoing training for all skill levels, including entry-level sales skills, as well as advanced sales approaches
  • Delivers using advanced adult learning techniques
  • Delivers coaching and constructive feedback on learner’s performance during the learning experience to further hone and increase transfer of skills
  • Establishes a learning environment where learners feel safe to try new skills and behaviors
