Responsibilities

  • Be a trusted member of the engagement team providing public finance consulting services to k-12 schools
  • Positively impact your client's by assisting municipal clients in financial planning and accessing the capital market:
    • Prepare and execute plans of finance designed to achieve client financing goals
    • Serve as the primary consultant and client point of contact on debt obligation related service teams
    • Facilitate engagement of firm service teams to provide clients with non-debt obligation related services
    • Proactively engage with your clients throughout the year to understand business goals and challenges
    • Manage all fieldwork to ensure quality service and timely delivery of results
    • Play in active role in providing valuable guidance and business recommendations
    • Deliver business insight through thoughtful review, analysis, and discussion
  • Manage client engagement staffing, billings/collections, and ensure client profitability targets are met
  • Utilize your entrepreneurial skills to network and build strong relationships internally and externally with the goal of acquiring new clients, projects, and revenue
  • Build relationships with clients and prospects in order to understand their opportunities and challenges. Where opportunities and challenges correspond with the firm's capabilities, explore the potential to be of service to the client or prospect
  • Invest in your professional development individually and through participation in firm wide learning and development programs . Pursue continuing education in the area of public finance in order to best serve clients and to maintain regulatory compliance
  • Participate in the planning and execution of educational events designed to raise awareness of the firm and expand its clientele. Prepare educational presentations to be delivered at the firm's own events or at professional association meetings
  • Attend professional conferences, oftentimes participating in trade shows. Create and execute a plans to achieve the maximum client development benefit from the conference event
  • Support the growth and development of team members through the Baker Tilly Care and Teach philosophy, helping associates meet their professional goals
  • Meet overnight travel obligations to attend meetings and events, as required
  • Performs other related duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Business Administration, Public Administration or related field required
  • The Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board Series 50 qualification required, or achievement of this qualification within 5 weeks of employment
  • Six (6)+ years' experience, three (3)+ years' experience in public finance preferred
  • Professional service sales experience desired
  • Demonstrated management, analytical, organization, interpersonal, project management, communication skills
  • Ability to lead and supervise others, provide exceptional client service, demonstrate commitment to continuous learning in order to stay current regarding applicable strategies, see the "big picture" as well as the details, display appropriate ethical knowledge and commitment, and exhibit a sense of urgency and commitment to quality and the timely completion of projects
  • Highly developed software and Microsoft Suite skills
