Web and Database Developer

Job Description
In support of NAWCAD 4.11.2, BAE Systems provides a wide range of technical services support in developing and maintaining Combat ID systems to support the warfighter. We seek a motivated and positive minded Computer Scientist and/or Engineer to support DoD contracts. Qualified candidates should have experience in software design, development, and testing. Primary responsibilities include software development in object-oriented programming for database web applications. Additional responsibilities will include developing reports using SQL databases; developing and maintaining SharePoint sites, libraries, lists, and pages; creating Excel Macros and automating spreadsheets; writing documentation describing processes, requirements, design, and procedures. Tasking will require working within an interdisciplinary group of production, logistics, finance, system integration, and admin staff.

This position is located in scenic and historic Southern Maryland in the St. Mary's County Technology Corridor adjacent to the Patuxent River Naval Air Station. Applicants must be currently residing in or willing to relocate to St. Mary's County, Maryland or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 1-3 years of related experience OR High School diploma and at least 8 years of related experience

Required Skills and Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 1-3 years of related experience OR High School diploma and at least 8 years of related experience
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance
Knowledge in applied programming using object-oriented programming languages with ASP.Net, and HTML
Knowledge in relational database design and structured query languages
Visual Studio 2015+ development experience
Ability to compose technical documentation
Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and users

Preferred Skills and Education
Understanding of software development lifecycle models
Understanding of Internet Information Services (IIS)
Understanding of website security and protocols
Understanding of SQL Injection security
Experience with Software Configuration Management Tools such as Tortoise SVN
Experience with Microsoft SharePoint
Experience with ASP.NET Master Page development
Knowledge of producing and/or reviewing technical documents, specifications and standards
