Value Stream Specialist - Senior
The RF Systems Final Factory is looking for a high energy individual to lead a Value Stream within the New Product Introduction (NPI) product stream. The NPI product stream is responsible for the first unit build of new hardware designs, including the development and maturation of the associated build processes and tooling in preparation for low rate production. This individual will have approximately 15 direct reports.
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Value Stream Lead will: maintain product flow and demand pull in the NPI environment; ensure factory metrics are achieved, and drive corrective action if necessary; support the factory Product Stream Manager in ensuring Factory Support Allocation, utilization and factory expense budgets are achieved and will identify issues driving the metrics; provide leadership to the work team; serve as focal point for issues internal and external to the Value Stream to ensure consistent delivery; understand product cost and have the ability to perform variance analysis if necessary; identify errors and initiate root cause, corrective/preventative actions as required; provide staffing recommendations as well as input to the non-exempt work force performance evaluations; coordinate and understand expectations from various different NPI projects, and able to manage, communicate, and set priorities to the NPI team for daily resource allocation based on business needs; ensure compliance with all safety and health regulations stated by internal company policy and Federal, State and Local applicable standards.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education
- Exhibit sound interpersonal skills involving interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel at all levels, customers and suppliers.
- Solid skills in problem solving, statistics, manufacturing quality, and quality principles
- Ability to understand, analyze, and resolve complex technical problems
- Ability to work independently and be effective in a fast paced environment
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
Preferred Skills and Education
- Demonstrated ability in applying SPC, Six Sigma and Lean Manufacturing
- Experience in a low volume, high mix production environment
