UX Design/Development

Job Description

The User Experience (UX) Designer supports new business captures and research and development activities by leading the development of visualization platforms for complex intelligence analysis software systems. The UX Designer works with our customers, business development partners, and engineering teams through all phases of rapid prototyping, new business capture and proposal development. A key requirement of this position is the ability to clearly communicate and work collaboratively to define strong visionary designs.

Develop, design, and implement strong prototypes from a comprehensive understanding of customer needs and operational objectives, understanding rendering capabilities of platforms, communicating clearly visualization concepts, and interactions with various stakeholders, including interaction approaches and trade-offs. Support proposal development activities through storyboards, graphics, section outlining and writing.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Strong collaboration and communication skills.
Ability to construct user stories, wireframes and UI prototypes.
Solid UX writing expertise.
Well-versed in visual communication techniques.
Understands the concepts of interaction design and has experience developing animated prototypes to highlight design interactions.
UI coding experience in JavaScript and various UI frameworks (e.g. Angular JS, Node JS, Foundation, etc.)
Displays ability to visualize and clearly communicate future solutions-before they are built.
Bachelor degree in relevant field.

Preferred Skills and Education

Knowledge of cognitive psychology.
Graphic artistry experience.
Understanding of human factors engineering, colors, and UI layouts.
Icon design and pixel-level design.
Understanding of modern UX practices, design principles and technologies.
Experience developing user empathy when finding solutions to their problems.

Recent experience working with DoD or Intelligence Community customers.
