Threat Warning Product Realization Group Lead

Job Description

BAE Systems is seeking a Product Realization Group Lead (PRGL) for our Optical Electronic Warfare Systems (OEWS) EO/IR Threat Warning (TW) products. The position will report to the Survivability, Targeting and Sensing Solutions (STS) Business Area Engineering Director (BAED).

The EO/IR TW PRGL is the primary engineering leader focusing on TW program execution and TW new business growth. At the discretion of the STS BAED, the EO/IR TW PRGL is the delegated business area engineering authority - ensuring that all aspects of the solution design and development, including the application of Core Engineering Processes, Design Reviews and Technical Bid Reviews are appropriately tailored and deployed across the business center.

• Partner with and support the OEWS Product Line Director and staff to develop and deliver products and systems that meet our customer needs
• Partner and collaborate across ES and STS engineering (PRGLs and Discipline Leads) as well as other functions to effectively support engineering across the enterprise
• Meet cost, schedule and technical performance for all EO/IR TW projects through their life cycle
• Ensure preparation and approval of competitive engineering bids that are executable, meet established price-to-win targets, and grow the business
• Design responsibility for all EO/IR TW products, architects, subject matter experts, project technical leads and engineering disciplines
• Serve as overall customer (internal / external) engineering POC for the product area
• In collaboration with the EO/IR TW leadership team, prepare and communicate Product and Technology Roadmaps that sustain and grow the business
• Identify and support the development of critical skills and resources
• Develop and maintain measures related to engineering performance
• 5+ years working with Photonics Systems

As a leader and supervisor the EO/IR TW PRGL must also:
• Achieve established business and engineering financial targets
• Work across organizational boundaries to solve problems and secure resources
• Recruit, train, develop and retain Project Technical Leads (PTLs) and teams to meet business needs
• Recruit, train, develop and retain Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to meet business needs
• Perform supervisory duties in alignment with the business

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education


  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related and 12 years experience
  • At least 5+ years working with Photonics Systems
  • Active Secret security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education

• 10+ years of Engineering management experience
• Technical MS degree
• Active TS clearance (SCI eligible)
