Job Description
BAE Systems is seeking an Engineering Technologist II to join our Test team of diverse engineers, technologists, and military veterans. This position will be located in Mount Laurel, NJ where Technology and Teamwork come together! The qualified candidate will provide Engineering and Technical support to the Test & Evaluation (T&E) Division head at Aegis Technical Representative (AEGIS TECHREP) in Moorestown, NJ.
Candidate's primary role will involve support of the TECHREP customer in obtaining outside support required during testing to include aircraft and surface ships coordination. The candidate shall assist in obtaining test scenario clearances for operational areas, ranges and range services.
The selected candidate will be expected to apply knowledge of Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and regional military airspace procedures to coordinate activities such as aircraft tracking exercises, chaff drop, jamming, and sphere track operations. The candidate shall prepare briefing material (flight profiles, hours of operation, specific aircraft/electronic needs, aircrew kneepad data, coordination data and test documentation) for presentation to flight crews as well as provide coordination with flight crews and regional air traffic control facilities during actual test events.
Secondary roles include preparing quarterly test service requirements for submittal to appropriate
funding agencies, ensuring that supporting activities have met cyber posture requirements, and coordinating transfer of necessary data/logs from aircraft for analysis.
Candidate must possess excellent oral and written skills and be able to work independently when required. Candidate may be tasked with providing guidance to lower level employees. Generally, work hours are standard, but some second and / or third shift hours will be required. Some travel is required.
One or more of the following abilities will be considered central to the position: Strong familiarization with FAA Air Traffic Control requirements including regional air space de-confliction. Relevant experience as a US Navy and/or US Air Force Air Traffic Controller will be considered. Generally, work hours are standard, but some second and/or third shift hours may be required. The position may occasionally involve travel to external test sites and might include off hours testing dictated by external factors governing equipment availability.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education and required years of experience requirement:
9 years related work experience and a High School Diploma // 7 years related work experience and Associates Degree // 5 years related work experience and a Bachelor's degree with a preference given to the Computer Sciences, Mathematics, or General Science - Scientific Method disciplines.
Security Clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance (U.S. Citizenship required).
Due to an emergent need to provide continuity in services to our customer, the ability to "hit the floor running" is a requirement. The key components of this must have requirement are:
Ability to coordinate test services support from external agencies and prepare briefing materials for flight crews and air traffic control facilities
Ability to properly execute customer approved tests, including on scene coordination with flight crews and air traffic control facilities
Ability to properly identify and assist with the collection of relevant data based upon approved test objectives.
Also required:
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Corel Draw, and Adobe Office applications
Must be technically adept, possess excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work independently as required
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Highly desired, but not required:
Active DOD security clearance
U.S. Military experience
Test and Evaluation experience
Experience and / or recent qualifications directly related to routine systems integration testing of computer programs or software development efforts.
Technical writing and editing ability
