Test Engineering Team Lead - Senior Principal
BAE Systems is looking for a Test Engineering Lead to join our Integrated Test Engineering (ITE) organization. ITE is a rapidly growing discipline within the Engineering organization with the mission to reliably deliver customer-focused, affordable test solutions which are integrated across all levels of production test. As a Test Engineering Lead, you will use your expertise to lead teams in designing, developing and implementing production test solutions needed for our Electronic Warfare products. These test solutions include Test Stands, Interface Test Adapters (ITAs) and software for In-Process (IP), Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) and Acceptance Test Procedures (ATP) ranging from component to systems level analog, digital and RF products. This fast-paced environment needs motivated engineers with a desire to solve challenging problems.
Test Engineering Leads are responsible for leading multi-discipline engineering teams in developing and maintaining the test solution's baseline, integrating hardware and software for the test solution, and verifying the test solution's readiness to be released for use in our factories. Responsibilities include managing and reporting the team's technical, budget and schedule progress, delegating assignments, and interfacing with inter-organizational and outside customer contacts to represent the program in providing production test solutions.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
•Experience leading a team of 5 or more
•Experience as a Systems or Test engineer designing and conducting performance testing of RF, Digital, Optical, or Analog products
•Possess a strong understanding of testing principles and philosophies
•Both hardware and software development experience
•Experienced with monitoring and managing budget/Cost Account Management
•Experience developing an integrated master schedule, manpower estimating and work product planning
•Takes ownership of deliverables produced and drives the team towards a high quality product
Preferred Skills and Education
•Current Secret Clearance
•High level competency with NI software development tools: LabWindows/CVI, TestStand or FlexRIO
•Knowledge of NI TestStand Process Model
•Experience updating existing production test solutions to address test reliability, test coverage or automation issues
•Ability to author and present Test Solutions at formal design reviews
•Experience performing verification activities, such as the command, control, and measurement of ancillary support equipment such as thermal chambers, product chillers, and other environmental conditioning equipment
•Have a demonstrated closure-oriented and self-directed nature
•Ability to provide technical leadership and mentor others
•Experience with LM-STAR or eCASS Automated Test Systems
•Experience with the application of industry standards related to production level testing
•Familiarity with developing Basis Of Estimates for proposal activities
•Familiarity with defense contractors or similar corporate environment
