Test Engineer I

Job Description
BAE Systems is looking for an entry level Test Engineer to be a contributor on the Technical Operations team supporting Microwave Manufacturing factories. The individual will resolve production test and product problems by conducting troubleshooting activities on multifaceted test equipment technologies and complex microwave modules. Problem solving of components, equipment hardware, and software. Including automated test stations and environmental stress screenings. Generating redlines to test procedures and completing document control change requests.
The candidate will support the test technicians with training, equipment upgrades, and thorough documentation. Resulting in high quality, repeatable, test capabilities and execution.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Experience with assembly, test, and debug.
  • Experience writing detailed procedures.
  • Experience identifying and purchasing parts for equipment or tooling.
  • The ability to isolate and resolve test related issues in both hardware and software.
  • Working in a operations & manufacturing production environment.
  • Working on a multi-discipline team to identify root cause of module and test stand related problems.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office.
Preferred Skills and Education
Familiar with Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) equipment (i.e. ovens, thermal cycling, shock, acceleration, leak detection).
Familiar with RF and digital instruments (i.e. network analyzers, spectrum analyzers, and signal sources).
Familiar with Lean / Six Sigma principles.
