Systems Engineer - SSP Programs

Job Description

This is a part-time on-call position.

The Systems Engineer will aid in the development of work instructions and process documents to support the SSP Systems Engineering effort. The Systems Engineer will maintain a positive on-going relationship with the SSP customer and be responsive to evolving customer needs. Excellent relationship building, negotiating, writing, solution development and technical skills have proven to be successful in this role. Essential responsibilities are to work directly with customer to develop Systems Engineering policy and procedures. The successful candidate will work effectively across functions with other product team employees in developing architecture products and interfacing with modeling and simulation tools .

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

SSBN platform experience (US OHIO / UK Vanguard).
Solid background in Systems Engineering.
Understanding of DoD and Navy Acquisition as it pertains to Systems Engineering.
Excellent cognitive, communications, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Skills and Education

System Architecture Analysis & Design (Subsystems, Interfaces, HW/SW Dependencies)

Systems Engineering Diagrams, including SysML and/or UML views (Function Flow Block Diagrams; Entity Relationship Diagrams; Activity, State, Sequence Diagrams) and associated architecture frameworks.

Model-Based Systems Engineering coursework and related toolsets (MagicDraw, Simulink, DOORS, etc.)
