Job Description
The Systems Engineer III - Remote Launch Control Center at Vandenberg AFB (CA) supporting the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate (SMC/ECL) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract - Researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Experience with risk assessment, integration and support of launch operations, monitoring and reporting the status of projects, and operations and maintenance, configuration management of the facility systems baseline, engineering and integration activities to identify facility and infrastructure interfaces and requirement, facility shortfalls, providing insight to short and long-term projects from conception through design and execution, assessing user requested changes, assessing mission impact of base construction, renovations, repairs, maintenance, and modifications that affect processing operations, ensuring Launch Service Providers establish reliable, effective, and efficient maintenance standards, providing measures to ensure RLCC readiness to meet mission needs through RLCC project management, surveillance, testing, inspections, project documentation, assessing mission assurance within the 30 OG Facilities and Asset Management Database (FIDB), and providing integrated schedules of RLCC activities.

Liaison - Serves as consultant to top management in long-range company planning or spokesperson on advanced projects and/or programs. Prime external spokesperson for the organization on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities and long-range goals and objectives.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Education Level: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or STEM-related field

Experience: Minimum: 10-years experience for Bachelors

Proposed: 12-years experience for Bachelors, 10-years experience for Masters, and 8-years experience for PhD.
