Job Description
The Systems Engineer III - Ground Systems - at Los Angeles AFB, CA supporting the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate (SMC/ECL) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Contract researches, plans, designs and develops mechanical products and systems such as instruments, controls, robots, engines, machines and mechanical, thermal hydraulic or heat transfer systems for production, transmission, measurement, and use of energy. Applies research to the planning, design, development, and testing of mechanical and/or electromechanical systems, instruments, controls, engines, and/or machines.

Systems engineering and manufacturing engineering expertise relative to launch vehicle ground operations, manufacture, test and support systems. Experience in the development of ground operations requirements and procedures, development of ground operations products, development of integration products and agreements, maintaining knowledge of requirements and ICDs, participation in risk identification and development, supporting test and integration activities. Experience deriving requirements, development of Interface Control Documents. Experience with Launch vehicle ground operations. background in launch infrastructure focuses on PWS sections 3.3.5.6 and 3.3.5.7 for launch infrastructure assessments and supports any other areas of PWS 3.3.5 (project engineering) as needed.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Education Level: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or STEM-related field

Experience: Minimum: 10-years experience for Bachelors

Proposed: 12-years experience for Bachelors, 10-years experience for Masters, and 8-years experience for PhD.

Security Clearance: Secret
