The selected candidate will maintain, monitor and control a large enterprise information technology (IT) network and all associated network devices across multiple classification levels. Monitor Local and Wide Area Networks to include transport links, layer 1 and layer 2 network devices; Monitor and report the status of synchronous optical networks (SONET); Monitor and report the status of Promina node network. Will coordinate with commercial vendors for troubleshooting efforts to restore outages of MB lines, T-1 primary rate interfaces, and Optical Carriers up to 10Gbps. Will perform trend analysis on circuits, network devices and server infrastructure. Will use a ticketing system to report network outages to local work centers and track status of the outage until restoration has occurred. Monitor and report status of Defense Red Switch Network and attached devices. Serve as the primary Satellite communications hub and controller. Coordinate satellite access with customers at remote locations. Troubleshoot end connectivity to distant end remote satellite locations and attached network devices. Report critical network outages to organizational leadership. Plan, coordinate and de-conflict Authorized Service Interruptions between DISA, Commercial Vendors, internal customers and external agencies. Will provide reports to senior level executives and brief senior leadership weekly. Responsible for providing technical expertise and input to ensure emerging telecommunications programs reach adequate functional requirements, proper security levels, technical compatibility, compliance with Government and industry standards; document and report on a daily basis the status of the assigned responsibilities. Must be self-reliant and capable of performing essential technical maintenance activities without direct supervision.
