The position shall assist in maintaining the software configuration of an enterprise-level network. The enterprise level is in the early stages of development and this effort will involve identifying test sites and working with these sites to push Windows updates, Anti-virus updates, as well as recorder updates. Ultimately, the video network is anticipated to be in about 70 locations and have 1200 Windows based recorders and clients. This position shall assist the government in evaluating and implementing different patch management hardware and software solutions and develop and document procedures for maintaining the hardware and software without impacting the collection of video evidence.

The System Administrator (SA) shall also assist the government in developing a desktop sharing/assist solution that will allows technicians at the client site to see the screens of equipment in the field office and help field personnel troubleshoot recorder hardware and software issues. This desktop sharing solution shall allow simultaneous viewing of the screen by field office personnel. The SA shall also be able to generate cost estimates for annual hardware and software costs to maintain subscriptions to update services and hardware maintenance and ensuring the system maintains current with technology. The SA shall be responsible for maintaining backups, adding users, applying operating system patches and monitoring the network for vulnerabilities and intrusions.
