System Engineer/Imagery Analyst

The successful candidate will work as a Systems Engineer supporting the customer’s Image Quality and Utility mission. The candidate will work as part of a team responsible for the end-to-end systems engineering activities related to image quality impacts to include: systems requirements definition & analysis, systems architecture design, and systems testing and image data verification & validation. Additional responsibilities may include: developing and executing tests; analyzing test results to determine acceptability of imagery data for community consumption; providing technical input to airborne product quality projects; participating in product quality airborne related assessments as well as assessments with other sensor phenomenologies, and functionality checkouts of data handling software and Electronic Light Tables (ELTs). Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education • Applied experience with imagery exploitation techniques to support quality analysis assessments

  • Understanding of image processing, display, and metadata
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong desire to learn, solve problems and perform in a dynamic work environment Preferred Skills and Education • Experience working with imagery analysts in an operational environment
  • Basic knowledge in imagery analysis of RADAR, NTM, Airborne, OPIR, LIDAR, FMV (Full Motion Video) and/or Commercial systems and National Imagery Interpretability Rating Scale (NIIRS)
  • Applied experience with NSG systems integration and transition methods, test methods, configuration management, engineering change process (ECP), risk management, and technical document review
  • Applied experience in performing formal quality assessments
  • Applied experience with system initializations and developing comprehensive tests and evaluations
  • Applied experience in identifying image artifacts/anomalies and root cause investigation
  • Knowledge of NSG tasking, collection, processing, exploitation and dissemination (TCPED) image chain
  • Knowledge of mission partner organizations and processes
  • Experience with a variety of Electronic Light Tables (ELTs)
  • Experience in basic software coding and scripting using programs such as MATLAB


  • Two years of experience
  • AND-
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operations Research, Physics, or a related discipline,
  • OR-
  • 5-8 years of systems engineering work experience or closely-related

field that demonstrates the ability to apply systems engineering

knowledge to the phenomenology of RADAR, NTM, Airborne, OPIR, LIDAR,
