Job Description
This supply chain leader will manage and implement strategic activities for BAE Systems Survivability and Targeting Solutions Operations on new business captures. With guidance from the Supply Chain Capture Director, the selected individual will primarily support the highest priority (Focus 25) new business captures early in the capture process (Stage 2-3) and further plan strategic Supply Chain Management activities to be executed after proposal and upon award.

This leader will be responsible for conducting new supplier risk and opportunity assessments, generating and negotiating supplier business agreements, performing supplier relationship building, gathering supplier technology and capability assessments, long range planning to support Integrated Business Plan supply chain requirements, strategic supply chain tool and resource generation, collaboration on Cost Burn Down activities, early engagement with engineering to refine requirements and broaden potential supply base, gathering and analyzing metrics on supplier performance, and collaboration with subcontract, operations, and supply chain management professionals to increase the successful implementation of sourcing strategies on pursuits and programs.

This role will bring subject matter expertise to proposal and campaign teams to increase capture Probability of Win (Pwin) prior to proposal submission and solid supply chain performance throughout program execution. Understanding the pursuit, customer, partners, and competitors, are essential in developing strong win and execution strategies. Successful strategy deployment will include working with capture team and supplier partners to developing supply chain strengths as discriminating factors into the winning proposal by leveraging best practices as well as identifying innovative solutions.
The candidate must have a demonstrated ability to work with engineering to determine the best internal or external sourcing solutions in consideration of Technical Requirements, Designing to Unit Production Cost (DTUPC) and Price To Win (PTW) for allocated material spend. These solutions shall be aligned with Operations and Supplier Partnerships vision to enable successful transition to production. The selected candidate shall facilitate collaboration with stakeholders to ensure compliance to policies and emerging industrial requirements including but not limited to Small Business Participation, Supply Chain Assurance (ITAR, Cyber Security, Corporate Responsibility), and Quality Requirements (AS9145, AS6500).

Leadership
Demonstrated ability to collaborate with key stakeholders and subject matter experts to yield total picture supply chain solutions
Varied background - Preferred experience in major captures, production and development programs, subcontracts, procurement, and strategic sourcing
Excellent relationship / interpersonal skills on supply side; demonstrated ability to foster and grow relationships with supplier executives
Excellent communication skills
Ability to work with incomplete information (vision)
Industry knowledge of Aerospace & Defense supply chain

Process
Support established Make vs. Buy, Make vs. Where procedures
Knowledge of BAE Systems Operations processes and capabilities
Knowledge of proposal generation activities including BOE generation, compliance requirements, ICE assessments, etc.
Blue Team Strategy Reviews with emphasis on Supply Chain
Participate in ITT (Intent to Team) discussions and Strategic Partnering Decisions with the Business Area
Senior Leadership Team and Electronic Systems Leadership Team

Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Broad knowledge of the supplier base, domestic and international•
Demonstrated knowledge of FAR/DFAR, ITAR, Small Business, Cyber Security, Supplier Quality Requirements
Proficient in contracting approaches and tailored structures
Demonstrated knowledge of supplier roadmaps /differentiating / emerging technologies
Cross BAE Systems function domain knowledge and network
Demonstrated written, oral and interpersonal communications skills
Demonstrated negotiation skills
Demonstrated capture or proposal experience
