Job Description
As a Systems Engineer Technical Intern 3, you will work on a team of other engineers supporting BAE System driven programs in order to increase the capabilities and productivity of our very important customers. The support that you bring to your team will help contribute to the overall success of our various government run partners. Your contributions can play a pivotal role in ensuring that our partner's missions run smoothly and soundly. As a team member, your daily tasks may include new development, fixing critical problems, providing stability to program related systems, provide utility programs to increase productivity of other team members, and much more.

At BAE Systems, we use the latest technologies and development techniques that will expand your realm of knowledge in the Systems Engineering industry. You may have the opportunity to work with cloud technologies such as Amazon Web Services, Azure, and Eucalyptus, as well as different management tools such as Gitlab, Git, Elk Stack, HP Fortify, SonarQube, Silk Performer, Jira, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and many more. There may also be opportunities to grow in scripting languages such as javascript, python, bash, power shell, and others.

Typical Education & Experience

Required Skills and Education

  • Must be a Junior transitioning into a Senior during Summer 2020.
  • Must have a major in one of the following programs:
    • Computer Engineering / System Engineering / Engineering Management / Computer Science
  • Must have a 3.0 GPA
  • Ability and desire to learn and grow in the Systems Engineering field
  • Strong oral and written communications skills
  • Team player with a proactive attitude wand ability to be productive in a dynamic / collaborative environment
  • Understanding of waterfall or agile development SDLC approaches.
Preferred Skills and Education
  • System Engineering related intern, work, hobby experience
  • Knowledge of requirement management tools (e.g., Doors, etc.)
  • Knowledge of software control management tools (e.g., ClearCase, Subversion, Git)
  • Knowledge of agile based tasking management tools (e.g., Jira, Kanban, etc)
  • Knowledge of various scripting languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, bash, PowerShell, etc.)
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure (e.g., Azure, AWS, Google Cloud, etc.)
