Sr. Software Engineer

Position is for a full-cycle, object-oriented software developer who can work well in a small group environment. The candidate will have to analyze needs and effectively manage projects and resources, applying to sound business principles and technology. Candidate must be able to design, develop, and manage Ruby on Rails applications and Oracle databases using current and emerging technologies that adhere to customer requirements and usability standards. Therefore the candidate must have experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Java development. Additionally candidate must possess experience with MVC frameworks such as Rails/Spring/Struts as well as experience with Oracle database development – PL/SQL is desired. Position also requires candidate to effectively apply relevant theories, practices, and principles when designing and developing. Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Polygraph required

Experience with Object-Oriented Programming

Experience with Ruby on Rails and/or Java

Experience with MVC frameworks like Rails/Spring/Struts

Experience with Oracle Database Development; PL/SQL

Full-Cycle Software Development; Write All Necessary Code

Experience Deploying Applications to a Production Environment

Excellent Oral and Written Communication Skills

Additional Duties:

Ability to work in small group environment dealing directly with customer to determine requirements

Operations & Maintenance on existing legacy systems

UNIX/LINUX experience; shell scripting a plus

Conduct unit/functional testing

Translates user requirements from a formal requirements document to an application/database design

Attend meetings and training sessions to increase proficiency in job-related skills and procedures

Maintain currency on tools, methodologies, technologies, and programming languages

Preferred Skills and Education C++


Ability to track and resolve programming bugs


to translate user requirements into end-to-end design for applications

and databases that may involve multiple interfaces to other applications

or supporting database systems

Experience with task management applications such as JIRA and Oracle Primavera
