Sr Prin Optical/Laser Engineer
Multiple openings for Sr. Principal Laser Architects/Engineers and Sr. Principal Optical Engineers. These engineers will be responsible for the design, development, manufacture, and test of complex laser systems operating in the UV/VIS/IR regions under stressing military and aerospace environments. Candidates must have design and hands on experience in multiple laser technologies including but not limited to: semiconductor laser, fiber lasers, solid state lasers, non-linear optical materials and devices, optical benches, and beam directors.
The ideal candidate will have the ability to work well in a collaborative multidisciplinary team environment to define and analyze subsystem performance specifications and to ensure compliance to these specifications in operational environments. The candidate must be capable of conducting system performance trades and manage risk elements to ensure maximum cost effectiveness and optimal system design performance. Ideally, the candidates will have experience with the cost, schedule, and technical aspects of developing laser and laser based products. The candidate shall have strong written and oral presentation skills and the ability to effectively communicate with program management, customers, and senior engineering leadership. The ideal candidate will be focused on teamwork and have the ability to peacefully resolve conflicts on the team. Candidates must be able to interact well with program management and customers.
