Sr. Prin. Optical Engineer I

Design, model, analyze, and test optical and electro-optical systems and components. Conduct research and development into phases of physical optics and geometric optics, lasers, laser characteristics, and laser maintenance. Apply research of complex optical systems to achieve desired optical performance. Develops component specifications, tolerances, simulations and tests procedures for electro-optical systems and components. Develop advanced concepts, techniques, and standards.

Develop solutions to problems of unusual complexity which require a high degree of ingenuity, creativity, and innovativeness. Challenges are frequently unique and complex.

Knowledge and practical experience with laser systems is required. Laser countermeasure systems knowledge and experience is preferred.

Ability to work well with multi-disciplinary teams often consisting of mechanical, electrical, optical, and systems engineers. Candidate must be able to interact well with program management.

B.S. in Physics, Optical Engineering, or equivalent with 12+ years experience working with optical systems.

M.S. in Physics, Optical Engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
