Sr Electrical Engineer (Automated Fuel Handling)
The selected candidate will be responsible for the design, installation and testing of large complex electrical/electronic systems. Will be actively involved in engineering, installation, verification, logistics, and customer feedback to ensure schedule, budget, and customer expectations are met.
Designing Automated Fuel Handling and Gauging Systems; Design of Electronic and Electrical Systems for Fuel Transfer and Storage.
Engineering tasks such as Systems Analysis, Systems Architecture, Surveys, Installation Drawing Package (IDP) Development, Systems/Equipment Support, and Test and Evaluation.
Developing, reviewing and maintaining Installation Design Packages (IDP) which includes, but not limited to, material lists, technical specifications, floor plans with equipment layouts and cable routing, block diagrams, wiring schematics, fabrication and assembly.
Ability to work with AutoCAD drafters to provide technical information for drawings to be included into contract deliverables
Generate requirements and create Statements of Work (SOW) which includes, but not limited to, trenching, installation of conduit and poles, road work, etc.
Acts as a contributing team member and assumes responsibility for the performance and coordination of the activity assigned within a required budget and schedule. Tasks may include preparation of specifications; load calculations, design, test, development and placement of specific parts of equipment; development of test plans and procedures, and contributions to proposals.
Works from specific assignment objectives and technical guidance received from supervisor or senior engineering personnel. Makes independent technical decisions on work consistent with objective. Confers with supervisor to resolve alternatives, “trade-off,” or unusual technical applications. Manages requirements and design changes through a configuration control board.
Provides technical direction to support personnel to include field technicians, drafters, site leads and other engineers in various disciplines.
Performs other duties and responsibilities as required.
This position is located in scenic and historic Charleston, SC. There is no monetary relocation assistance budgeted for this position. Willingness to relocate one’s self is required and is required to be clearly stated in resume to be considered.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and at least five years of related experience
Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance/background investigation
Fuel handling or fuel terminal / pipeline or automation/industrial controls experience
Ability to travel as required (up to 50%)
