Sr. Database Developer
The candidate will work on the customer site and be responsible for Database administration and development (Functions, Procedures, Triggers, Packages, etc) on Oracle and SQL database servers. Candidate will also be responsible for software development activities as assigned by the Government project lead. Candidate will also be responsible for daily maintenance and debug of the customer databases, datasources. Candidate will provide all DBA-related support to applications that the customer’s database servers support (incoming and resident) and provide all DBA-related support (requirements, implementation, integration, testing, installation, and maintenance) to all software and hardware (future and residing) on the database servers. Candidate will work with users on requirements development and refinement as well as demonstration of database and software features.
Candidate will work with other USCG and Other Government Agencies (OGA) DBA’s as required. Candidate will provide and maintain all system documentation jobs schedules, database status, data diagrams, and files and maintain licensing information. All work will conform to DHS, DOD, and Intelligence Community, and USCG guidelines. Candidate will respond to after hour trouble calls from the IT Duty Technician. Candidate will create and maintain any appropriate documentation. Candidate will perform all database disaster recovery/COOP methodology as delineated by the Government Project Lead.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 5 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Must have a Security+ certification or ability to attain within 90 days of reporting. BAE will fund training and testing to obtain Security+. Proficiency with Oracle Database administration and development, proficiency with full life cycle software development, Proficiency with database maintenance and operations, experience in database DR/Coop planning and execution, excellent customer service and communication skills.
Preferred Skills and Education Extensive software development experience preferred, Experience with SQL Server database administration, maintenance and development. Experience with Coast Guard Operations and Systems
