Solutions Architect (Proposal / Capture)
Responsible for leading the development of solutions as well as serving as the technical Subject Matter Expert (SME) for key opportunities. Leads and is supported by a matrixed team of specialists. Applies industry best practices coupled with innovative cutting edge advancements on individual capture opportunities to develop winning, tailored solutions aligned to the capture strategy for the opportunity. Establishes the road map for future capabilities in area of expertise and for assessing and recommending solutions for challenging technical issues that may arise in the execution of particular contracts.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Leads, architects, and develops comprehensive solutions for key opportunities focused on IT infrastructure engineering and sustainment solutions and services. Applies understanding of critical customer program goals to develop winning, best value, tailored solutions. Serves as Subject Matter Expert (SME) in development of these solutions as well as leading a matrixed team of specialists.
- Specifically, the Solution Architect will:
Develop IT-based solutions consisting of contextual, conceptual and logical architectures using standards-based,rigorous methodologies and practices
Conduct architectural analysis of alternatives(AoA) trade studies including CAIV, Criteria-based Decision Analysis and/or other proven methodologies
Develop lifecycle cost models to support architecture decision trades
Communicate solutions with customers,management, and teaming partners, including presentations and white papers
Develop technical approach and project engineering plans, including tasks, process and critical resources, to turn the solution into a successful proposal
Subject Matter Expert responsible for assessing and recommending solutions to I&S Management Team and Customers for challenging issues arising during contract execution.
Subject Matter Expert supporting the I&S CTO and Vice President of Strategy with respect to technology initiatives included in annual IBP process
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Experience supporting proposal efforts, comprising a diverse matrixed team of technical specialists, and involving the development of novel or innovative new solutions
Knowledge and understanding of mission challenges and issues confronting customers
Understanding of Federal contracting and procurement
Experience leading architecture of application integration, migration, and sustainment solutions involving understanding of software support, maintenance, and sustainment
Knowledge of requirements analysis and development to include requirements allocation to software systems
Experience participating in forums and conferences, writing and presenting technical papers.
Knowledge and understanding of DR/COOP techniques and the requirements associated with data stability.
Knowledge and understanding of Data Center management, including remote management techniques, utility usage estimating, bandwidth provisioning, and operations and maintenance.
Knowledge and understanding of virtualization, storage, server, networking, data center services, and other leading-edge products and technology in conjunction with industry and business skills to influence clients.
Knowledge of enterprise infrastructure architecture, including security, availability, integration, capacity, and
Knowledge of the development of data availability services, policies, documentation, and procedures including
disaster recover, business continuity, and high availability
Knowledge of the development of data protection services, policies, documentation, and procedure including data security, backup and recovery
IT specific domain knowledge, including (i) ITIL; (ii) End user computing; (iii) Network engineering; (iv) Enterprise IT
infrastructure; and (v) Intelligence Community Information Technology Enterprise (IC ITE).
Knowledge of information systems engineering processes and, in particular, system design and solution development processes
Lifecycle cost modeling and decision support methodologies
Preferred Skills and Education
Expertise in enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., DoDAF, Zachman)
Certifications – Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), ITIL Certification, Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) certifications
Master’s Degree (Preferred in appropriate discipline)
