Software Test Engineer

Develops test cases and test execution scenarios. Conducts testing activities for subsets of complex systems and subsystems. Demonstrates an understanding of the principles, theories, and concepts of the software development process and has extensive subject matter expertise for the system under development or has a proven ability to gain the subject matter expertise for the system under development. Develops and executes test cases, verification of system capabilities and system enhancements or changes, test script development, requirements decomposition, requirements verification, performance testing, regression testing, high availability testing, end user testing, system and software level integration troubleshooting, test plans, and test reports. Develops automated test scripts and performs testing activities using automated testing tools.

Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 12 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Provides status to the test lead on all test activities.; Facilitates the generation of problem and change reports, communicates orally and in writing with the test lead and developers, and ensures the corrective action for these problems and change reports operate correctly.; Develops project standards and processes.; Works independently to ensure full test coverage of the assigned test subset.; Coordinates providing end products to for review and approval.; Employs system analysis techniques that translates system requirements into test cases/scenarios that ensures that all the assigned subset requirements are part of the system to be delivered. Additional requirements include;

  • Work with software developers to develop test procedures and scenarios
  • Execute test procedures verifying system design
  • Plan and develop automated testing strategies
  • Work with stakeholders to understand requirements and evaluate software solutions
  • Support deployment of production system solutions
  • Participate in software teams development methodology
  • Provide clear and concise documentation to support the system development process
  • Conduct research into and apply knowledge of Government test and evaluation concepts and related engineering activities

Preferred Skills and Education · Must currently hold an active TS/SCI Polygraph security clearance

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Must have 8 years of professional experience
  • Experience in Testing and/or Test Automation
  • Ability to write test scripts and code automated test tools
  • Excellent technical problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Strong self-motivation and willingness to tackle challenging problems
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience working within an Agile development environment
