Software Integration Engineer (Enterprise Management Tools)

Job Description

5+ years LINUX/UNIX/Windows System Administration Experience

  • Develop, implement, and execute standard procedures for the administration, backup, disaster recovery, and operation of these Event Mgmt. tools including Operating System hardening, backup management, capacity planning, change management, version/patch management, and life cycle upgrade management.
  • Configure network tools to provide up-to-date operational and performance status of networks and devices. Interface with IT staff to adapt tool capabilities to meet operational requirements
  • Tune tool performance and event data quality to maximize system efficiency.
  • Assist with analysis using network and other tools to detect and respond to network infrastructure events, incidents, and outages
  • Maintain documentation of designs/configurations
  • Work with software and hardware vendors to facilitate support and other activities.
  • Hands on experience configuring, supporting, and troubleshooting HP Network Node Manager, HP Network Automation, NAGIOS/Thruk, SPLUNK, NetQos, Packet Design.
• Familiar with fundamental networking/ distributed computing environment concepts. Can configure NFS and NIS, can use "nslookup" or "dig" to check information in the DNS and understand basic routing concepts
• Ability to write scripts in administrative language (Tk, Perl, Python, bourne, bash, korn)
• Web server maintenance experience
• rsyslog, snmp configuration and implementation
• Independent problem solving; self-directed
• Strong interpersonal communication skills; training users in complex topics, making presentations to internal audience, and interacting positively with upper management.

Typical Education & Experience

Bachelor's Degree and 15 years work experience or equivalent experience
