Job Description

~~The Software Engineer I at Cape Canaveral AFS, FL supporting the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate (SMC/ECL) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) Contract designs and develops applications software and systems. Collaborates with hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs,, analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls,, designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems.

Expertise in designing and developing plans, processes, procedures, functional and data requirements analysis, system analysis, and documentation preparation for complex systems. Proven experience in all areas of software development life cycle phases including: requirements gathering and analysis; designing solutions and databases; developing, testing, and implementing products; training users, demonstrating products; performing maintenance and responding to service requests for supported software..

Liaison - Works primarily internal to company and some customer work site. Limited inter-organizational and outside customer contacts.

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Education Level: Minimum: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or STEM-related field

Experience: Minimum: 5-years experience for Bachelors

Proposed: 7-years experience for Bachelors, 5-years experience for Masters
