Software Engineer

Job Description

BAE Systems wants your Software Engineering talent to support software and control design activities for Power and Propulsion Systems projects. Be part of our dynamic team to develop software applications for hybrid propulsion transit bus, pure electric battery-only bus, fuel cell and advanced/maritime applications. Develop embedded software and controls for energy storage systems and motor/generator inverter-based systems. Opportunities to do hands-on integration and verification work in the lab or on vehicle. Develop low level drivers and interfaces for our new product offerings or work on software build and test automation.

Candidates should possess strong communication skills both written and oral. Candidates should have strong troubleshooting skills and demonstrated success in multitasking environment. Candidates must be a motivated and team-oriented individual that would complement the Agile development team.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Programming experience in one or more languages (Ada, C, assembly...)
Experience in debugging software using emulators
Experience in low level testing using simulators
Good oral and written communication skills
Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with others
Good organizational, planning and follow-up skills

Preferred Skills and Education

Ability to research and apply engineering principles and theories to solve engineering problems

Motivated self-starter with leadership skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Excellent problem solving skills, judgment, and analytical capability
