Software Configuration Management

Job Description

Given specific direction, provides software configuration management and software

build/release support to Engineering by administering automated configuration management tools.

Assembles controlled software configuration items and creates and maintains controlled software

baselines. Maintains an inventory and record of all software baselines sent to customers. May perform

computer systems task assignments within Engineering including: software configuration management

(SCM) tasks including performing software builds and tools systems administration for CM and Change

management tools; PC database requirements analysis, design, development, and implementation;

and other engineering development tool administration tasks. COTs and Open Source SW license

tracking & verification. Tool administration tasks include script software requirements analysis, design,

development, implementation, and maintenance, and tool configuration and installation.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 2 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

• Under the direction of more senior SCMs, candidate will be expected to learn and apply specific

Software Configuration Management tools and principles. Skills may include and are not limited to:

o Rational Clearcase/Clearquest


• Candidate may be required to apply for and attain a Government Security Clearance to the Top

Secret Level. Candidate can start with a Secret Clearance or have the ability to gain a Secret


- Proficiency with MS Office products (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)

• Bachelor ' s Degree, will consider Associates with experience

• Must be able to work in a dynamic, fast moving, environment

• Candidate must have excellent organizational skills. Candidate will be evaluated based upon work

accuracy, punctuality to assigned tasks and ability to work within a team environment.

Preferred Skills and Education

Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Systems, Management

Information Systems and Technology

Will consider Associates degree accompanied by direct SW CM experience.

Can waive the degree requirement with more than 5 years actual experience with a defense contractor.
