Job Description
The Chief Engineer at Los Angeles AFB, CA supporting the US Space Force (USSF) Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC), Launch Enterprise Directorate (SMC/ECL) Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) contract focuses on enterprise integration across various engineering disciplines: electronics, electrical, mechanical, chemical, etc. Defines problems, conducts research, analyzes criteria related to various engineering fields, and addresses/resolves problems.
Experience leading and managing the SE&I systems engineering and integration efforts across the enterprise focusing on a digital engineering environment and model-based systems engineering; including but not limited to creation and maintenance of ECL program documentation, Oversight of all activities in PWS sections 3.3.1. Systems Engineering, 3.3.2 Integration, 3.3.3 ELSS, 3.3.7 Safety, 3.3.8 Environmental, 3.3.9 Security and Cyber, 3.3.12 Risk Management, and 3.3.11 Launch Schedule Management, Mission Director training, lessons learned database, trade studies, etc. Experience performing enterprise level systems engineering and integration across SMC/ECL, integrating Systems Engineering disciplines for SMC/ECL including interests within launch site interfaces and Range interfaces, and interfacing with the SMC/ECL Government Chief Engineer and Deputy Chief Engineer.

Supervision and Management Received - Works under limited supervision. Routine work requires no instruction. General instructions given for new assignments.
Accountability - Errors may be difficult to detect and would normally result in loss of customer business, material or equipment to resolve.
Contacts - Contacts are typically with individuals within own department and occasionally with contacts outside own organization. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data requiring some explanation or interpretation.
Problem Solving - Develops information which extends knowledge in a given field. Information may form the basis of newly developed concepts, theories and products. May establish operating policies and procedures that affect departments and subordinate sections and work units. Interprets company-wide policies and procedures. Develops budgets, schedules, and performance standards.
Discretion and Latitude - Often acts independently to uncover and resolve issues associated with the development and implementation of operational programs. Assignments are objective oriented. Work is reviewed in terms of meeting the organization's objectives and timelines.
Impact - Decisions have an extended impact on work processes and outcomes. Erroneous decisions result in critical delays and modifications to projects or operations; cause substantial expenditure of additional time, human resources and funds; and jeopardize future business activity.
Liaison - Interacts frequently with internal and external management and senior-level customer representatives concerning projects, operational decisions, scheduling requirements and/or contractual clarifications. Leads briefings and meetings for internal and external representatives.

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Minimum: Engineering Degree in STEM -related field
Minimum: 15-years experience for Engineering Degree
Proposed: 17-years experience for Engineering Degree
