Signal Processing Systems Engineer

Job Description
The Cognitive Electronic Warfare (EW) Capability Group is developing advanced capabilities for a wide variety of current & future platforms and systems. Our team of algorithm, control, EW, signal processing, software, data, and machine learning engineers, work closely with leading researchers and scientists, to productize and extend the capabilities of what is possible, in order to increase the effectiveness of our current & future EW systems and platforms.

The Cognitive EW Capability group is looking to add additional Signal Processing engineering staff to join our team. Our team is actively in pursuit of developing, integrating, testing and deploying advanced algorithms, in the areas of RF sensing, detection, identification, tracking, and response, using the latest adaptive signal processing, machine learning, and information theory technologies, in addition to others. Key technology advancements in Cognitive EW capabilities will improve air/sea vehicle situational awareness, survivability, and allow for executing suppression of enemy air defenses.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Perform as an individual technical contributor on a related range of programs, and Independent Research & Developments (IRADs):
  • Develop algorithms for acquiring, detecting, classifying, tracking & estimating and processing of radar waveforms
  • Analyzing radar and system level data
  • Perform modeling and simulation to study behavior of advanced capabilities
  • Prepare documentation for algorithm designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures

  • Perform system-engineering functions such as:
  • System and/or software architecture definition and analysis
  • Develop and manage system level requirements
  • Perform system architecture trade studies
  • Participate in systems level integration and test
  • Verify and validate designs to conform to functional and performance specifications, and customer requirements

  • Other Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present technical presentations to peers, senior leaders, and customers
  • Support business development efforts
  • Generate ideas for potential proposals
  • Contribute to new proposals.

  • Typical Education & Experience

    Required Skills and Education
    The Engineer is expected to be involved in the entire development cycle starting from design/analysis, to algorithm development, simulation modeling, implementation and product realization including integration, debug, and testing.

    Computer skills for modeling, simulation and analysis, as well as preparing appropriate reports and technical documents using MATLAB/MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/Project/Visio etc.

    Travel up to 25%

    Active United States security clearance, Secret or Top Secret, SCI Eligible.

    PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 2+ years of experience.

    Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 4+ years of experience.
