Ship Change Configuration Analyst

Job Description

BAE Systems Inc. is looking for a well-qualified configuration analyst to join our team for an exciting opportunity supporting shipboard C5ISR (command/control, communications, computers, collaboration, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance) systems.

The applicant will coordinate and analyze moderately complex C4ISR Ship Change Documents as part of a technical assessment team. Will be required to attend various coordination, configuration control, ship integration, and ship availability planning meetings. The job entails working with new systems and equipment currently deployed aboard US naval ships.

BAE Systems wants people who are self-starters and who have experience with working in small teams.

This position is located in Washington DC close to the Washington Navy Yard. Applicants must be currently residing in or be willing to relocate to Washington DC or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in business or technical discipline and 3 years of experience in configuration planning, management, and control of electronic equipment and communication systems OR Associate degree and 7 years of experience or high school diploma and 9 years of experience

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Demonstrated experience with ship change documents

Knowledge of Configuration Control Boards

Experience with Navy Data Environment (NDE)

Ability to obtain and maintain the required security clearance

Understanding of communications theory of operation

Ability and willingness to work in a team setting

Preferred Skills and Education

Experience in preparing technical documentation
Familiarity with and/or experience in configuration management support of ship-based systems on military installations
Knowledge of electronic systems
Familiarity with Navy Data Environment-Navy Modernization (NDE-NM), NDE-Entitled Process (NDE-EP), Configuration Data Managers Database - Open Architecture (CDMD-OA)
Background in computer networks or computer engineering
