Senior Tech Specialist
Provide program and project engineering support for major initiatives and engineering developments. Participate in design efforts, facilities modifications, equipment installation, activation tasks, quality assurance, configuration management, data management, systems analysis, test support, scheduling, operations, performance assessments, and maintenance.
Provide planning documentation for Government approval detailing funding requirements to include: data calls, task planning sheets, labor and material estimates, budget formulation, schedules, risk management evaluations, documentation, briefing materials, and point papers.
Support the Government and participate in meetings to include all programmatic elements: engineering, readiness, maintenance, operations of designated programs and projects, and program reviews. Maintain status of upcoming events to include reporting and coordination of potential issues and conflicts with customers, outside agencies, and other Contractors.
Research, develop scope, draft responses, and provide cost estimates for future major programs for Government review and approval.
Monitor long-range (five-year) schedule of events and conduct capacity assessments. Develop and recommend design innovations to enhance local and remote connected site operations.
Develop Plans of Action and Milestones (POA&M) for specific tasks, status reports, program briefings, and provide weekly SITREP inputs for Government review and approval.
Support lab operations to coincide with the Government-approved schedule documented in TRMS.
Minimum Education and Experience Bachelor’s Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience Required Skills and Education Minimum education and years of related work experience required: HS Diploma/GED and at least 14 years demonstrated knowledge of the AEGIS, AEGIS BMD, SSDS, or DDG 1000 Programs to include technical understanding and ability to prepare complex and detailed technical and budgetary planning documents, reports, and presentations;
Of the 14 years, 5 years of specialized experience in: schedule development and task planning for activating, operating, and maintaining complex Navy programs and projects, financial planning, developing staffing and operating budgets and tracking execution of project funds for allocation purposes; integrated management schedule (IMS) development and tracking for planning and budgeting; coordination of task planning. Demonstrated experience including: strong, detailed working knowledge of installation, operation, and maintenance of AEGIS, AEGIS BMD, SSDS, or DDG 1000 systems. Demonstrated ability to plan and budget for installation and operation of new developmental or established AEGIS, AEGIS BMD, SSDS or DDG 1000 systems; comprehensive knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office suite and Microsoft Project software applications and best practices with a skill in applying software functions necessary to prepare complex and detailed planning and budgetary documents and presentations; and development of briefing materials and participation in senior level technical or design reviews, test or mission readiness reviews, and Program office budget reviews and planning sessions.
Security clearance requirement: Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance (U.S. Citizenship require). The selected candidate will receive a contingent offer and start date will be delayed until at least an interim Secret clearance is granted.
Also must be willing and able to provide a state issued driver’s license and complete DMV records upon date of hire. If position requires driving of a vehicle 10k lbs and more than 15 passengers, selected candidate must provide proof of completion of Navy Driver Training, in addition to a state issued driver’s license and complete DMV records.
Preferred Skills and Education Highly desired, but not required:
Active DoD Secret security clearance
Knowledge of and experience with Test Resource Management System (TRMS)
