Senior Product Support Lead

Job Description

Seeking a strategic-thinking Product Support Engineering Leader to develop vision for, and direct the execution of, a through-life product support program for an integrated aircraft electronic warfare (EW) system.

Candidate must be a self-starter, an agile thinker and influential leader with ability to move from the strategic level to the implementation level in interactions with multiple disciplines, audiences, and teams. Individual must demonstrate ability to establish a close working relationship with the internal and external customer leadership and project teams.

Candidate must be able to develop innovative strategies and solutions for long term customer support throughout the system life cycle. Emphasis is placed on designing for increased reliability, reduced logistics footprint, and an affordable product support program.

Candidate must provide overarching direction and strategic vision to the program's Integrated Product Support team and the technical IPTs. Individual must be customer focused and solution oriented and has demonstrated experience in leading a large Product Support team of logistics, reliability, maintainability and safety engineers through development and fielding of a product.

Candidate must possess strong system support planning and execution skills, understanding requirements to influence systems architecture and design/development for cost effective long term product support, with overall responsibility for the team's budget, schedule, and risks across multiple contracts,

Candidate must also possess a good working knowledge of reliability and maintainability engineering, system safety and Technical Publication and Training activities.

Individual will lead Product Support personnel in execution of proposal efforts.

Candidate must have strong organization skills to manage multiple overlapping contracts, budgets and schedules.

Candidate must have strong written and verbal communications skills with demonstrated command of presenting to senior levels of internal and external customer management, subcontractor management, as well as the internal Product Support team.

Candidate must be able to obtain a Secret clearance upon employment.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 10 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

10+ years of experience in Product Support Engineering; 5-7 years as a Product Support Leader on medium to large projects. Experience with establishing both development and support/sustainment programs.

Platform level Logistics and support knowledge.

Innovative thinking and high levels of organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient with technical presentations to high levels of internal, subcontractor, or customer program management.

Demonstrated knowledge of the principles and requirements for Product Support planning and execution.

Knowledge of Logistics analysis/engineering tasks (including Logistics Support Analysis, Business Case Analysis, Spares, Repairs, Life Cycle Cost, Diagnostics, Maintenance Tasking, Obsolescence and DMSMS, Performance Based Logistics). Familiarity with development of Provisioning, Technical Documentation & Training; Packaging, Handling, Shipping and Transportation (PHS&T); and product Demilitarization and their criticality to the end-user.

Familiarity with Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, and System Safety to ensure emphasis is placed on designing for high levels of availability.

Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

Proficient with Earned Value Management (EVMS), establishing and managing risk burn-down, preparation of integrated master schedules and program roadmaps.

This job requires over 30% travel.

Preferred Skills and Education

Familiarity with Product Support tools output for analysis of results

Working knowledge of GFE/GFM tracking and analysis.
Working knowledge of DMS and obsolescence mitigation process.

Working knowledge of Reliability, Maintainability, Testability, and System Safety is strongly desired to influence high levels of product availability.

Knowledge of military and commercial jets, a plus.

Secret security clearance, with ability for higher levels of clearance.
