Senior Principal Radar Exploitation Scientist

Job Description

We are looking for a highly-skilled Scientist seeking a career in a fast-paced research and development environment implementing state-of-the-art technologies in the Boston area. Leveraging your abilities and experience, you will work closely with subject matter experts and software engineers to create and improve a broad range of technologies involving signal processing applications and system design for a range of ground-based, airborne, and space-based radar systems.

Professional experience in a radar sensor design, development, or exploitation is required. Experience in algorithm development, modeling & simulation, detection/estimation theory and data analysis is also required. Preferred applications may include: space time adaptive signal processing (STAP), synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image formation and exploitation, ground moving target indication (GMTI), RF-guidance, interferometry, multi-statics, or other radar applications.
The ideal candidate would have an active TS DoD security clearance, papers published in recognized journals/conferences, experience with customer presentations, and proposal writing / business capture. Additionally, the ability to lead a small team of Scientists and Software Engineers is highly desirable.

Typical Education & Experience

Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Required education: Doctoral Degree in Physics, Engineering, Mathematics or related field and 4+ years of experience, or Master Degree with 6+ years relevant experience.

Experience with radar signal / image processing
Experience in algorithm development, modeling & simulation, and data analysis
Experience in one or more of the following: detection/estimation theory, statistical analysis, or optimization
Proficiency with MATLAB or Python
Business capture experience
Capability to function as a team player with a proactive attitude in a dynamic environment

Must have at least a US Secret security clearance and be eligible for a Top Secret security clearance.

Preferred Skills and Education

C++, Java, or Python programming, preferably in Linux
Prior experience in signal processing applications such as radar, sonar, tomography, LIDAR or other remote sensing applications
Familiarity with formal software development processes
Previous experience overseeing junior researchers/developers
