Electronic Combat Solutions Hardware Engineering Group is looking for a Senior Principal II Digital Design Engineer to lead FPGA designs through all phases of development.
The ideal candidate is expected to perform activities including assessing and decomposing requirements, planning and scheduling of FPGA program related tasks and milestones, assigning resources, negotiating deliverables, identifying risks, reducing risks, tracking daily progress, and reporting status by way of earned value or similar. Duties may also include assisting in requirements generation, design architecture, as well as ownership of RTL coding, synthesis, basic test bench development, lab testing, and product support.
There are multiple growth paths for the individual, technically or otherwise - Technical Lead on larger programs, Systems Engineer, Control Account Manager, or Functional Manager.

The position requires a U.S. person with the ability to obtain a minimum of Secret Clearance

Typical Education & Experience

Required Skills and Education
• Technical Leadership of a medium sized engineering team
• Experience assessing and decomposing requirements into a schedule and plan
• Significant experience in FPGA (preferred) or ASIC Design / Development
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Self-starter and a good team player
• Ability to mentor and willingness to be mentored
• VHDL (preferred) or Verilog HDL coding
• Familiarity with Xilinx ISE/Vivado or Intel/Altera Quartus
• Strong debug and problem solving skills
• Familiarity with static timing analysis
• Experience and willingness for lab testing

Preferred Skills and Education
• Ability to distill higher level requirements into micro-architecture
• Experience with DSP fundamentals and FPGA implementation
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink
• Experience dealing with legacy designs
• Digital simulation using Modelsim/Questa
• Experience in hardware design and hands-on lab debug
• Experience being a CAM (Control Account Manager)
• Working understanding of Radar systems
• Experience with high speed ADC/DAC interface, SERDES, PCIe
