Senior Machine Learning Systems Engineer

Job Description

The Cognitive Electronic Warfare (EW) Capability Group is developing advanced cognitive algorithms for a wide variety of current and future platforms and systems. Our team of EW, software, data, and machine learning engineers work closely with leading machine learning researchers and scientist to productize and extend the capabilities of what is possible in machine learning to increases the effectiveness of our current and future EW systems and platforms.

The Cognitive EW Capability group is looking to add additional experienced machine learning, software, and EW engineers to join our team in the pursuit of developing, integrating, testing and deploying advanced cognitive algorithms in the areas of RF sensing, detection, identification, tracking, and response using the latest adaptive signal processing, machine learning, and information theory technologies, in addition to others. Key technology advancements in Cognitive EW capabilities will improve air/sea vehicle situational awareness, survivability, and allow for executing suppression and destruction of enemy air defenses.

The work will be conducted at BAE Systems Electronic Combat Solutions division and responsibilities will include being an individual technical contributor on a related range of programs and Independent Research & Developments (IRADs).

Technical Responsibilities:
The Engineer is expected to be involved in the entire development cycle starting from design/analysis, to algorithm development, simulation modeling, implementation and product realization including integration and testing.
Provide technical contributions in areas such as algorithm development, signal processing, threat analysis, system and/or software architecture definition and analysis, modeling and simulation, data analytics, probability and statistical analysis and methods, and machine/deep learning.
Prepares documentation for algorithm designs and architectures in accordance with established systems development processes and procedures.

Other Responsibilities:
Prepare technical presentations to peers, senior leaders, and Customers. Support business development efforts. Generate ideas for potential proposals. Contributor to new proposals.

Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education

Interpersonal skills for interfacing, coordinating and negotiating with company personnel, internal and external customers, suppliers and other performers.

Technical Skills/Experiences (at least two required): algorithm development, signal processing, threat analysis, radar operation, EA, ESM, SIGINT, RF, Knowledge of FPGA implementation in VHDL system and/or software architecture definition and analysis, modeling and simulation, data analytics, probability and statistical analysis and methods, machine/deep learning, real-time operating systems, and model-based engineering.

Computer skills for modeling, simulation, and analysis as well as preparing appropriate reports and technical documents: MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C/C++, TensorFlow, PyTorch, CUDA, SysML, MagicDraw, MS Word/ Excel/ PowerPoint/Project/Visio etc.

Preferred Skills and Education
Recent or expectant PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.

Masters of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related engineering discipline and 2+ years of experience

Active United States security clearance, Secret or Top Secret, SCI Eligible
