Senior Human Factors Engineer

Advanced Solutions Engineering (ASE) at BAE Systems drives advanced research and development efforts such as cloud computing, autonomy, machine learning, and advanced analytics to address the United States' most pressing problems. We embrace change, anticipate evolving technologies, and collaborate with universities and research labs to develop engineering discriminators and acquire new business opportunities.
This position will:
-Analyze customer needs, environment, requirements, and operational objectives to design and develop software solutions as a user advocate.
-Apply principles of human capabilities and constraints and knowledge of users and their environments to develop, test, and evaluate the effectiveness of user experience and interfaces (UX & UI).
- Use human engineering tools, methods, and techniques to perform analysis and provide recommendations for human systems integration, safety, maintainability, reliability, and other quality factors to ensure mission success.
-E valuate stakeholder and operational needs to derive requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility with physical, functional, and behavioral aspects of our products.
As a member of ASE, you will work across many US DoD and IC mission areas and interface with those respective programs' senior leadership. BAE Systems has a long history of delivering mission critical and advanced technical solutions for the United States Department of Defense and Intelligence Communities. We are looking for an experienced technical leader to expand our capabilities to address our customers' new and emerging needs.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 8 years work experience or equivalent experience
Required Skills and Education
-Experience performing rapid prototyping of user interfaces such as wireframes, mockups, and designs
- Experience in Human Factors, Ergonomics, User Experience, human-machine interface design, or a related discipline
- Good written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to work effectively in a diverse team environment
- Experience leading a team and developing solutions to complex situations
- Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, ergonomics, human factors, or Human Computer Interaction (HCI)
- US citizen with the ability to obtain a security clearance
Preferred Skills and Education
-Active or recent TS/SCI clearance
-Experience with UX tools such as Axure
-Experience applying User Centered Design principles to software
-Understanding of principles of human capabilities and constraints such as physiology, cognition, perception, and ergonomics
-Have experience with agile and other modern software development practices
-Knowledge of enterprise capabilities such as micro services, content management, data analytics, modern software platforms, cloud computing and system of systems integration
-Recent relevant experience on a DoD or Intelligence Community development program
