Senior Electrical Engineer

Job Description
The selected candidate will be a leading member of our quick reaction engineering lab in Sterling, VA. You will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team building quick turn solutions in support of worldwide Intelligence Community and Special Operations Missions. You will be expected to apply rigorous engineering principles in the performance of research, design, implementation, simulation, test, and integration of analog and digital circuit card assemblies across multiple projects. In additional you will develop, design, and oversee production of prototypes and production circuit card assemblies, integrate subsystems, and provide field support for finished systems.

Designs custom electronic assemblies to customer specific requirements including:

  • Schematic design and simulation
  • Printed circuit board layout design and fabrication
  • Bill of Materials creation and maintenance
  • Prototype bring-up and troubleshooting
Will interact regularly with other engineers and customers regarding technical issues, maintain liaison with customers with responsibility for acting independently on technical matters, and will brief current and potential customers.

This position is located in Sterling, VA. There is no relocation assistance available for this position. Applicants must be currently residing in or state willingness to relocate self to Sterling or surrounding areas.

Typical Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and at least 10 years of related experience

Required Skills and Education
Experience designing and bringing-up complex mixed signal circuit card assemblies (Multiple BGAs, 8+ Layers, multiple power domains, HDI technology)

High Speed Digital Circuit Board Design (PCB, FPGA, microcontrollers, UART, SPI, Gbe, PCIe, USB)

Experience with Altium Designer or similar ECAD tools

Hands on experience with lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, logic analyzers, function generators, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers.

Relevant experience related to systems integration, electrical engineering design, RF systems, and antennas

Self-starter, highly motivated individual that takes great pride in his/her work that provides and keeps thorough documentation of all tasks and projects

Capable of executing on multiple projects while working under minimal supervision

Ability to develop a product from customer requirements through end user delivery and support

Experience supporting classified requirements within the Intelligence or DoD community

Active TS clearance and ability to maintain (SCI eligible)

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field and at least 10 years of related experience

Embedded Linux and/or 8/16 bit microcontroller firmware development.

Willingness to support customer engagement and/or business development activities as required

Desire to learn/support non EE functions such as operation of 3D printer, laser cutter, UV printer, CNC mill, and/or general shop work as needed to support completion of dynamic project requirements
