More specifically, we are looking for a candidate to support the Precision Guidance and Sensing Solutions (PGSS) Product Line within our STS Business Area. This position is for a Senior Electrical Engineer to provide electronic design for anti-missile seekers for missile defense applications. Required skills include electrical/electronic circuit board design from board specification to detailed circuit design and schematic capture. A broad knowledge of hardware technologies needed for a seeker electrical subsystem, including knowledge of opto-electronics, Digital Signal Processors (DSP), A/D and D/A conversion, FPGA based signal processing techniques, motor control, power distribution, and inertial measurement. A detailed knowledge of Circuit Card Assembly (CCA) design, verification, test and troubleshoot. The ideal candidate will have a proven ability to derive electrical circuit requirements from board level specifications to create CCAs that optimize Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWAP-C), and to realize these designs through collaboration with other project team members to create producible and reliable products. The candidate will work closely with Systems Engineering and a Hardware Lead to establish CCA requirements, circuit designs and test methods; "owning" the design throughout design, test and transition to production.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Circuit Card Assembly design from specification to production.
  • Design Verification Test (DVT) and recurring test
  • Participate in design reviews as either a technical assessor or presenter
  • Review and/or develop requirement specifications for Circuit Card Assemblies, FPGAs, and subcontracted electrical assemblies.
Typical Education & Experience
Typically a Bachelor's Degree and 4 years work experience or equivalent experience

Required Skills and Education
  • Circuit analysis, including component derating, signal integrity, and power analysis (component, CCA, and system)
  • Circuit simulation tools
  • Schematic capture and circuit board layout tools
  • Technical presentation, communication and writing skills
Preferred Skills and Education
  • Active Secret Security Clearance
  • Master's Degree (M.S.E.E.)
  • Familiar with Earned Value Management System (EVMS)
  • Experience with design and failure analysis of high-reliability electronic assemblies
